About Melanie
I took up balloon twisting by chance in 2015 and set up my Balloon Artworks business a year later. At that time, the mainstay of my business was twisting at children's parties and corporate events, but I quickly branched out after falling in love with balloon decor. I attended several Qualatex training sessions, enrolled in the QBN programme, and went on to pass my CBA.
Balloon art has become my obsession. If I'm not making a balloon sculpture, then I'm sketching drawings of designs that have popped into my head. I find myself looking at objects and other art forms and imagining how I could recreate them in balloon form. I’ve also published three children’s books which I’ve illustrated using photographs of balloon animals!
